Fear of injections and dental phobia are common phobias that affect many people. For some, it is just a mild discomfort, while for others, it can lead to panic attacks or avoidance of necessary medical treatment. Fortunately, there are methods that can help overcome these fears, and one of the most effective and quick ones is hypnosis.

Thankfully, there are methods that can help overcome these fears or phobias, and one of the most effective and quick one is hypnosis.

Hypnosis is a therapeutic method where a person enters into a relaxed and focused state. During hypnosis, a person can learn to manage and change unwanted behaviors or emotions, including fears and phobias. Hypnosis is a well-established method that has helped many people overcome many different fears and phobias.

Fear of injections, whether it's for vaccinations, blood tests, or dental anesthesia, is an unnecessarily distressing feeling. But it can be changed.

Dental anxiety or phobia is a problem that can be effectively resolved. It may not feel like it when you're struggling with it, but once it's changed, it's truly amazing, and you can be free to make the choices that you feel are best for yourself and your health.

The importance of oral health has also been shown to be more significant than previously thought, for the overall health of the body.

How does hypnosis help?

Hypnosis works by helping the person to relax and focus their attention on positive images and thoughts. During hypnosis, positive reinforcement (according to your wishes) and suggestions can also be used to change behaviors and thought patterns. By working with me, a professional hypnotherapist, you can learn to effectively manage your fear and feel more confident and, above all, calm about future medical procedures.

Benefits using hypnosis

There are many benefits to using hypnosis to treat needle phobia and dental anxiety. Firstly, it is a non-invasive method that does not require any medication or surgical intervention. It is also a relatively quick treatment that can provide immediate results.

In summary, hypnosis is a highly effective method for treating needle phobia and dental anxiety.

As a professional hypnotherapist, I specialize in helping people overcome various fears and phobias that limit their lives. I use proven techniques and tailor the treatment to each person's individual needs. On the ce-hypnosis.com website, there is a plenty of information on how hypnosis works and how it can help treat phobias and fears, as well as different methods that can be used. (For example, CBT in hypnosis is extremely effective.)

My clients have been helped and their fears have been significantly transformed. Imagine the difference of looking forward to going to the dentist or taking a blood test without any problems. It can be life-changing for someone who previously had extreme anxiety or phobia.

Studies

There are of course several studies that have demonstrated the effectiveness of hypnosis in treating needle phobia and dental anxiety.

One study published in the Journal of Dental Education examined the use of hypnosis to treat dental anxiety in adult patients. The study involved 26 participants who received hypnosis treatment in four sessions prior to their dental appointment. The results showed that hypnosis treatment significantly reduced patients' fear, anxiety, and stress levels and increased their relaxation during the dental appointment.

A study published in the International Journal of Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis examined the use of hypnosis to treat needle phobia in children. The study involved 30 children who received hypnosis treatment prior to their vaccination. The results showed that hypnosis treatment reduced the children's anxiety levels and pain during vaccination, and they experienced a positive attitude toward future vaccinations.

Another study published in the European Journal of Oral Sciences examined the effect of hypnosis on needle phobia. The researchers found that patients who underwent hypnosis treatment had significantly reduced fear and pain during the injection, compared to a control group who did not receive hypnosis treatment.

A third study published in the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine investigated the effect of hypnosis on patients with needle phobia undergoing dental implant treatment. The researchers found that hypnosis was an effective method for reducing fear and anxiety in patients.

But ultimately, it's the result of how my clients have changed for the better that is the greatest satisfaction.

Nonetheless, the studies mentioned provide further evidence that hypnosis is an effective method for treating needle phobia and dental anxiety, and can help patients overcome their fears and anxieties associated with dental procedures and injections.

Please note:

I do not diagnose, treat, or cure diseases. I do not work with cancer (in Sweden no, only as a support for emotions/nausea in Australia), mental illness, or severe depression. In such cases, clients are referred to appropriate medical or healthcare professionals.

What I can offer is supportive work focused on change and self-regulation such as working with triggers, behaviours, emotional responses, and learned reactions. This may have a positive influence on overall wellbeing or help relate differently to physical sensations (for example pollen responses, stress reactions, habits, emotions, or pain).
Many people find this makes daily life feel easier, more comfortable and more manageable. You can read reflections from clients about their personal experiences here.

Online sessions are available for clients in Scandinavia, Australia, Europe, Asia and Canada.
