Regain control - give yourself freedom from fears

Many people live with fears that feel overwhelming, unpredictable or “irrational” - yet every fear response is simply the nervous system trying to protect you. Through targeted hypnotherapy and the CE-Method, you can retrain these reactions so the body feels safer and the mind becomes calmer. Still giving respect to the phobia, if valid but, not letting it control you. Because then - you can meet the situation calmly and respond with the best possible solution.

Phobias and fears weaken when the nervous system no longer reacts as if danger is imminent. Hypnotherapy gives you the tools to retrain that reaction at its source so your body stays calm, your mind remains clear and everyday situations no longer feel threatening.

As internal safety grows, life opens up again: more freedom, more confidence, more choice.

Whether your fear shows up in specific situations, in the body, or in everyday life, hypnotherapy offers a supportive way to change automatic patterns at the subconscious level. This will make you able to be in control and be able to enjoy life more.

What can CE-hypnosis help address?

Situation fears & Anxiety responses

If you struggle with situational fears - such as fear of flying, fear of heights, fear of bridges, fear of driving, or anxiety in crowded places - hypnotherapy can be one of the most effective ways to create fast and lasting change. Many people experience racing thoughts, loss of control, dizziness, tense breathing or a sudden spike of panic in these situations. This has nothing to do with capability - it’s a stress-triggered nervous system reaction.

With hypnotherapy, you learn how to calm your body, steady your focus and create an internal sense of control even in situations that previously felt overwhelming. Research shows that hypnosis can reduce situational anxiety, retrain subconscious fear patterns and help the brain shift into a calmer, more regulated state when exposed to triggers.

This approach doesn’t just mask symptoms - it changes the underlying pattern driving the fear. As the nervous system becomes steadier and more predictable, confidence grows naturally. Everyday situations that once felt frightening become manageable, grounded and even comfortable.

Hypnotherapy helps you rebuild trust in yourself, restore balance and reconnect with a sense of internal stability, so you can move through flights, heights, bridges, traffic and busy environments with calmness, clarity and control.

Animal related fears

If you struggle with animal phobias - such as fear of spiders, fear of snakes, fear of dogs, fear of cats, or fear of insects, birds, wasps or bees - hypnotherapy offers a powerful and gentle way to create real change. Many people experience an immediate surge of panic, racing heart, shaking, or an urge to escape the moment they see or anticipate an animal. This reaction isn’t a sign of weakness - it’s your nervous system activating old, automatic survival patterns.

Through hypnotherapy, you learn to calm the body’s instinctive response, reduce hypervigilance and create a sense of control over internal safety even when facing your specific trigger. Hypnosis is shown to help reprogram subconscious fear patterns, ease the fight-or-flight response and support the brain in forming new, calmer associations with animals.

This method doesn’t just offer temporary symptom relief - it shifts the underlying emotional conditioning that drives the fear. As your nervous system becomes more regulated and predictable, confidence grows naturally. Interactions with animals that once felt terrifying can become manageable, neutral, and in many cases completely comfortable.

Hypnotherapy helps you rebuild trust in your own reactions, stabilise your emotional response and reconnect with a grounded sense of control, so you can move through everyday life without fear of spiders, snakes, dogs, cats, insects or any other animals that once triggered anxiety. Simply have respect and knowing ways to handle situations.

Medical and bodily fears

If you struggle with medical or bodily fears - such as fear of hospitals, fear of needles, fear of blood, fear of dentists, fear of choking, fear of vomiting, or anxiety around illness and germs - hypnotherapy can offer one of the most effective ways to reduce these intense automatic reactions. Many people experience a sudden spike of panic, dizziness, nausea, shaking or a strong urge to avoid anything medical. These reactions are not “irrational” - they are protective nervous system patterns formed long before you could control them.

Through hypnotherapy, you learn how to regulate your body’s stress response, calm the subconscious fear pathways and build a stable internal sense of safety around medical triggers. Research shows that hypnosis can reduce needle-phobia, blood-phobia, hospital anxiety and other medical-related fears by retraining the brain’s automatic emotional responses.

This approach doesn’t just suppress the symptoms - it transforms the underlying pattern that generates the fear. As your nervous system becomes steadier and more predictable, your control increases. Situations like medical visits, blood tests, dental appointments or unexpected physical sensations become easier, calmer and far more manageable.

Hypnotherapy helps you rebuild trust in your body, create emotional stability, so you can approach medical situations with clarity, ease and a grounded sense of control rather than fear.

Why hypnotherapy works for phobias and fears

Phobias and intense fears can affect daily life in powerful ways. Whether it’s a fear of flying, fear of heights, fear of spiders or dogs, fear of needles, fear of choking, claustrophobia, agoraphobia, or panic around bridges, hospitals, crowds or deep water, these reactions often feel instant and uncontrollable.
But phobias are not a sign of weakness - they are automatic nervous system responses learned long before you could consciously influence them.

Hypnotherapy is one of the most effective natural methods for reducing phobias and fear-based reactions because it works directly with the subconscious patterns that trigger panic. Through calm, guided hypnosis, the brain learns to switch off the “alarm response,” regulate emotional intensity and create a stable feeling of internal safety.

As your nervous system becomes calmer, everyday situations that used to cause fear begin to feel more manageable. You gain the ability to stay grounded, think clearly and move confidently through moments that previously triggered panic, avoidance or loss of control.

Hypnotherapy doesn’t just reduce symptoms - it transforms the root cause of the phobia.
- You get control of your actions
- You retrain the fear pattern itself.
- You rebuild trust in your body.
- You restore confidence and create long-lasting emotional stability.

Examples of Fear Patterns Hypnotherapy Helps Transform

Specific phobias - Hypnotherapy rewires the subconscious fear loop so triggers like spiders, needles, flying, dogs, heights or choking no longer activate panic at the same intensity.

Medical and bodily fears - Clients learn to stay grounded around hospitals, blood tests, dental work, nausea or bodily sensations that once created fear or avoidance.

Situational fears and panic - Fears around driving, bridges, tunnels, crowds, enclosed spaces or deep water soften as the internal alarm system becomes steadier and more regulated.

Anticipatory anxiety - Hypnotherapy helps quiet future-based fear by shifting the body out of hypervigilance and into a calmer, more predictable state.

If you want a natural, medication-free way to overcome phobias and fears, hypnotherapy offers a gentle, effective and research-supported path toward real, lasting change.

Severe snake phobia

I want to share my experience with hypnotherapy with Camilla. I turned to Camilla as a last resort to change my fear of snakes. I have had a phobia of snakes for as long as I can remember, but as the years went by, everything got worse. My phobia has limited me in virtually every context and has been a major factor in my daily anxiety and stress. The phobia was so severe and limiting that I couldn't even enter a toy store without someone checking beforehand where the toy snakes were, I couldn't handle people talking about snakes, or accidentally seeing a picture, without it leading to panic attacks, nightmares, and ruining my day.

Today, after four sessions with Camilla, my daily life has changed, my sleep has changed, and my anxiety has shifted for the better, with much of the phobia gone. Camilla has made an incredible difference for me, and I feel so much better!

Camilla is a wonderful person and incredibly professional throughout the process. She made me feel safe and cared for from the first moment.

There is no one like Camilla; I am so incredibly happy and grateful for her help.

Fear of driving on highway

Honestly, just the thought of driving on the motorway was enough to send me into a spiral of panic - before.
This meant that I always chose to travel on smaller roads, which took much longer and made travel limited and very complicated.

Thanks to Camilla's extensive knowledge, patience, and understanding, I have now overcome my fear an panic. Camilla understood exactly how I felt and tailored a method that made me feel safe and confident on the road.

Today, I can joyfully and confidently drive on the motorway without any issues. I cannot thank Camilla enough for the freedom she has given me.

I highly recommend her to anyone needing support. She is amazing.

Fear of flying

The first time I reached out to Camilla was because of my fear of flying. Throughout my 41 years, this fear has caused me anxiety before flights and panic attacks while flying.

Not being in control, and feeling each time I board a plane that “this might be the last thing I do,” was overwhelming. I’d send messages to everyone I loved, feeling the fear building inside me. The first time I flew after hypnotherapy with Camilla, I felt as though the fear was still there, but it was outside of me, and I had control.

For the first time, I had a choice about whether I would let the fear control me or whether I would control the fear. The second time I flew, I was aware of the fear but could even let go of needing control, it didn’t affect me in the same way at all. The best part of all this is that I can now enjoy my trips without dreading the flight home.

Plus, my children no longer have to see or feel that their mom is not in control.

Some people might believe - just as I was a bit skeptical myself - that hypnotherapy is something mystical. But it’s not. Think of it as the brain being “reprogrammed” as memories are processed.

The results for me have been so remarkable that I sometimes still wonder how it’s even possible.

Thank you, Camilla, for helping me feel free and more connected to myself.

You are amazing!

What does an Hypnotherapy session look like?

Working together at CE-Hypnosis is gentle, professional, and personal. You remain in control at all times - aware, and safe.

1. Conversation & mapping:
We explore your story, typical triggers and situations and view possible short term goals and longterm goals.

2. Guided hypnotic relaxation:
You remain aware and in charge while the body settles into a receptive state many describe as “comfortable, rested but focused.” Which also is very healthy for your mind and body.

3. The therapy work:
From the mapping (the therapy work itself) to using many different tools to make changes whilst you are comfortable relaxed.

4. Response re-learning:
We use targeted suggestions to change familiar triggers with new interpretations, so your system practices staying steady.

5. Visualization & suggestive support:
Visuals (e.g. different scenarios) and suggestions are used to reinforce new response patterns.

6. Homework between sessions

Short home practices help you reinforce change. Adding personalised tips for different issues.

7. Follow-up:
Measure what’s changing, and optimize your path forward in your pace. And testing when ready (works in the mind too).

While conscious, talk-based therapy works mainly through rational understanding and discussion, hypnotherapy engages both the conscious and subconscious mind - the part of you that runs emotional, automatic, and habitual responses.

This difference often makes change faster, deeper, and more natural.

Fear of vomit and bacteria

I lived with panic and fear of vomiting for so many years that it eventually controlled my entire life. I couldn’t go to the cinema because I was terrified I might get sick. I avoided visiting people, and before meeting anyone I always had to ask if they’d been ill. I even developed a fear of germs because I was constantly afraid that I would catch something, get sick and possibly vomit. It drained so much energy, and I felt ashamed of how limited my life had become.

After getting help from Camilla, everything changed. She understood the whole thing, the panic, the physical reactions, and the thoughts that constantly spun in my head. I felt safe with her from the very first moment. The sessions helped me calm my nervous system, let go of the instant panic response, and realise that I no longer needed to fear my own body.

It’s hard to put the big difference into words, but I feel free in a way I never thought was possible. I can go to the cinema, I can meet people without worrying, and I no longer organise my entire life around ‘what if’. The fear of germs has eased as well, and I notice how much calmer and more present I am in everyday life.

I’m incredibly grateful. It truly feels like I’ve gotten my life back.

A very relieved and grateful client

Really bad dog phobia

I had been terrified of dogs my entire life. I couldn’t even take my children to the park to the swings, I crossed the street whenever a dog appeared, and my whole body reacted with panic before I even had time to think.

After just two sessions everything changed. She helped me calm my nervous system, understand my reactions, and gently retrain the fear that controlled my life. The moment I finally walked up and petted her dog for the first time was unbelievable - something I never thought I’d be able to do. She even had to teach me how to pet cause I had never done that before. But it felt good.
I still have a respect for dogs and as Camilla suggested, learnt the basic dog behaviour. But my panic and fear is gone.

Today I can go to parks and public places with my kids without constant fear. It has genuinely changed my everyday life but also my family's.

Very happy client

Horse - from fear to flow

! fell off during a jumping session with my horse, and after that nothing felt the same. Every time I got back in the saddle, my whole body tensed up and I felt the stress rising immediately. I also noticed that my horse became nervous, which only made me even more unsure of myself - no matter what my riding instructor said. Riding, which is normally where I feel my best, suddenly became something stressful where I lost my confidence. And on top of that, I was supposed to compete in show jumping!

After getting help from Camilla, in just two sessions, actually, everything shifted. She helped me reconnect with a sense of calm in my body, and it changed absolutely everything. My horse became calmer, more secure and more responsive, and suddenly riding felt different in the most incredible way. When Camilla taught me how to ride in a lightly relaxed state, my horse reacted instantly. It felt like we found each other again and found a flow - we truly became a team.

The difference has been huge. Riding feels wonderful again, and I can clearly sense how my horse picks up on the change. It brought back both the joy and the confidence I had lost, and I’m so incredibly glad I dared to try hypnosis with Camilla - it was amazing.

The Mind-Body possibilities with Hypnotherapy for panic phobias and fears

In a relaxed hypnotic state, the fight-or-flight system softens, allowing the brain to access clarity, emotional regulation and a sense of internal safety thus enabling your own control.
Through guided imagery, focused attention and subconscious re-patterning, clients learn to dissolve old fear associations, reduce automatic panic and respond with calmness instead of overwhelm.

Hypnotherapy creates a space where the body and mind can relearn safety - not by forcing exposure, but by changing the internal reaction to the trigger.

This shift enables clients to approach previously frightening situations with more control, steadiness and confidence.

Clinical findings on hypnotherapy for anxiety, phobias and panic-related conditions consistently show improvements in:

  • emotional regulation

  • reduced panic and avoidance

  • calmer autonomic responses

  • cognitive control under stress

  • decreased physiological arousal

  • improved sense of safety and predictability

  • reduced fear intensity and frequency

  • internal control

These mechanisms explain why hypnotherapy is effective for people whose fears and phobias are driven by old learning, nervous-system sensitivity or subconscious protective responses.

When the mind and body begin working together rather than against each other, confidence and control emerges - naturally, consistently and with ease.

At CE-hypnosis we use a client-centred, integrative hypnotherapy approach (the CE-Method) that blends clinical hypnosis, imagery, habit-repatterning and self-empowerment. Book a session and we’ll map your story, identify triggers and craft a path toward your goal.
(Sessions available online for clients in Australia, NZ and worldwide. On-site in Sweden, Nordic countries is possible.

Research and studies supporting hypnotherapy, for fears and phobias

Many people are surprised to hear that hypnotherapy isn’t just a relaxation technique - it’s actually been studied quite a lot in relation to anxiety, fears and phobias. Clinical findings on hypnotherapy for anxiety, phobias and panic-related conditions consistently show improvements. For many, it becomes the moment where fear stops controlling life, and a more calm, confident way of living finally feels possible.

Imposter Syndrome (Related Mechanisms)

There are no major RCTs specifically testing hypnosis for “imposter syndrome”, but the evidence strongly supports the core mechanisms involved:

  • anxiety reduction

  • self-esteem improvement

  • performance anxiety reduction

  • emotional regulation

  • reduced fear of judgment

  • increased self-efficacy

These processes are well-studied within hypnosis research.
